Billing Accounts Receivable Assistant

(Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year)

Responsibilities include:

  • Billing
  • Assisting with accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconciliation of vendor accounts including receiving, verifying, and recording vendor invoices
     

Our billing clerk works closely with our attorneys to:

  • Generate and distribute prebills and review monthly
  • Create and distribute final client bills and monthly statements for clients
  • Answer questions from staff and attorneys regarding billing and A/R


Our idea candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Experience working with attorneys
  • Experience using Juris or similar time and billing software
  • Experience with TyMetrix 360 and Bottomline Technologies or similar e-billing software
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • The ability to work independently
  • A focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to troubleshoot issues on short notice

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of billing and/or accounts receivable experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and a familiarity with common legal technology tools.

Legal Secretary
(Salary range $40,000-$60,000)

Gross Shuman P.C. is seeking to add an additional full-time legal secretary to our already awesome support staff in our downtown Buffalo office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and process legal documents and papers, such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints, wills and estate planning documents, appeals, motions, and pretrial agreements.
  • Utilize digital dictation equipment to transcribe documents.
  • Mail, fax, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials.
  • Organize documents, and maintain case files.
  • Make photocopies of correspondence, documents, and other printed matter.
  • Assist attorneys in collecting information such as employment, medical, and other records.
  • Complete various forms, such as accident reports, trial and courtroom requests, and applications for clients.
  • Prepare and distribute invoices to bill clients or pay account expenses.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of legal secretary/administrative assistant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and a familiarity with common legal technology tools.
