Keifer S. Tehan

Keifer S. Tehan joined Gross Shuman P.C. in 2025 as an associate attorney. He focuses his practice in the areas of Municipal Defense, Commercial Litigation and Construction Litigation.

Municipal Defense

• Defending municipalities of all sizes (towns, villages, cities and counties) on a full range of litigation issues including personal injury, civil rights, and employment discrimination matters
• Defending municipalities in both State and Federal Courts, including at the appellate court level (Appellate Division as well as the Second Circuit)

Commercial Litigation

• Representing businesses of all sizes in a variety of litigation matters including resolving disputes between business partners, forming business entities, and providing strategic advice for further operations

Construction Litigation

• Representing contractors and property owners in a variety of litigation matters including claims of defective workmanship, non-payment claims, and personal injury claims under New York Labor Law

General Litigation

• Experienced in various other litigation practice areas including consumer debt collection, landlord-tenant law, health insurance, contract disputes, alternative dispute resolution, etc.

Prior to joining Gross Shuman, Keifer spent four years as an associate in a Buffalo litigation firm. During law school he worked for a Magistrate Judge in the U.S. District Court in Colorado. He was also a member of the Law Review at the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law, and he gained valuable experience working as a law clerk at multiple Buffalo firms prior to his admittance to the bar.

When he is not advocating on behalf of his clients, Keifer can be found rooting on the Buffalo Bills as a self-described "Bills fanatic." He is also an outdoor enthusiast and frustrated golfer who enjoys world travel.
