GROSS SHUMAN ATTORNEYS TO PRESENT AT SOCIAL MEDIA 2012 CONFERENCE

Attorneys Trevor M. Torcello and Leslie M. Greenbaum of Gross, Shuman, Brizdle & Gilfillan, P. C. will be among the speakers at the “Social Media 2012” conference on March 6 from 3 to 6 pm at Hilbert College in Hamburg NY.
The regional conference will focus on current business, marketing and legal issues. As an added feature, a live internet video stream will enable off-campus participants to ask questions of the experts via Twitter and Facebook.
Mr. Torcello will be co-presenting “Pitfalls and Opportunities in Social Media” along with Carolyn Human, an account manager at Travers Collins. They will discuss will talk about the breadth of social media legal matters and the importance of creating strategies to address these issues.
Mr. Greenbaum will present “Using Trademarks and Copyrighted Materials in Social Media,” which will examine issues ranging from fair use, copyright infringement and rights of publicity.
In addition to the online video feed at chrisgallant.tv, a live audio broadcast of the conference will be available on Hawk Radio, Hilbert’s Web radio station at www.hilbert.edu/hawkradio.
The conference, sponsored by the Hilbert Department of Digital Media and Communication (DMAC), is open to the public. Early registration through March 1 is $10 per person, and will be $20 after this date. The conference will be located at Hilbert College’s Palisano Lecture Room (101 Bogel Hall).
